Our Process

We design and manufacture right here in Ontario

Local, hands-on, and creatively driven: from start to finish. From sketch to final print, it’s a process that involves pattern-making, garment dye, vintage sock machines, and a whole lot of experimentation.

This is how it happens...

Studio Beginnings

Location: OkayOk Toronto Studio

This is where everything starts.

We draft patterns, test samples, and experiment with graphics in-house. Our studio is a design lab, a print shop, and a small scale manufacturing hub.

Graphics & Vinyl Printing

Location: OkayOk Toronto Studio

All our prints are developed and applied in-house using heat transfer vinyl. Allover prints are designed right on the garment: laid out by hand and applied with precision, heat and rigorous attention to quality.

Sourcing & Materials

Location: Brampton + Toronto Area

We source our fabric in two ways: we work with a textile mill in Brampton, ON to create custom cotton knits, and we seek out interesting overstock fabrics from local mills and factories. Designing with what’s already available is part of our creative process.

Cutting & Sewing

Location: Mississauga, ON + the OkayOk Studio

Our pieces are cut and sewn by skilled local partners or right in our studio. Working with small production runs allows us to stay flexible and maintain quality at every stage.

Garment Dyeing

Location: North York, ON

Our garments and socks are dyed together in new colour stories every season. Having control over this important aspect of our products has made us who we are today. OkayOK will forever be driven by an excitement for experimentation with colour.

Sock Production

Location: Brampton, ON

Our socks are made on vintage, low-tech sock machines that are over 50 years old. We love their imperfect charm and the satisfying rhythm of the process. Most of our socks are made with natural fiber yarns we purchased from a Toronto sweater factory that closed in 2025. We own a treasure trove of beautiful yarns that we'll be creating with for years to come.

Intention at Every Step

Manufacturing close to home allows us to stay involved in all aspects of production, and to have meaningful relationships with the people behind our supply chain.

Our process is decidedly slow and proudly local. It's not just how we make things. It's why we make them. OkayOk is committed to pushing creative boundaries, to make the most of what's possible with small scale manufacturing in Canada.
