Print Anything Workshops
Description
Brand new at Okayok - the Print Anything Workshop, a four hour drop in class where you can bring in your own garments, totes or textiles to print, or purchase one of our blanks as the base for your design. Print as many things as you want to, with a little vinyl, or a lot.
We supply all vinyl, equipment, and knowledge for you to decorate your chosen blank. Use our pre-cut shapes to make an Okayok design like a polka tote, or create something unique with our many other vinyl options.
Upcycle and rejuvenate old favourites by covering stains or holes with vinyl. We have experience printing on denim, trench coats, sweatshirts, tees, woven and knit fabrics, all kinds of things.
The class is open to adults and children ages 7 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Reach out to book a private party for groups of 6 to 10.
How it works:
Pre-registration required. Sign up for the class and choose to either bring your own blank or purchase one of ours. When you arrive you will be given a short lesson about vinyl printing, according to the blank you're working with and your design direction. Your time will begin after your lesson is complete and you're ready to get started.
The base cost of $40 is for the first hour and includes the cost of the vinyl. After the first hour, the hourly cost is reduced to $30/hour and is calculated by the minute, to be paid after your project is complete. You're welcome to print as many things as you like during your time with us.
Available Blanks:
Regular Canvas Tote in Black or Natural: $8
Oversized Canvas Tote in Black or Natural: $18

Our Space
The workshop takes place on the second floor of the OkayOk studio at 40 Sousa Mendes Street in Toronto.
Our work tables are standing height and we have tall stools which will be provided for seating - guests may choose to sit or stand while they create their tote. Accomodations can be made for any accessibility needs.
FAQs
Do I have to know anything about vinyl or a heat press?
Not at all. We will provide instruction and will check your work before adding heat to make sure it's all good to go. You'll be using scissors to cut the vinyl and we will take care of all heat pressing during the class. You're welcome to try but it's not required.
What can I print on?
We're game to try anything but the material needs to be able to withstand high heat and pressure. Cotton and other natural fibers work well, and some synthetics like polyester can be printed on. Buttons, snaps, zippers, seams, and existing prints may all affect the outcome. In the past we have printed on denim jeans, cotton, trench coats, and more. We do not have the equipment to print on hats. You're welcome to reach out with questions or bring a few options to the class.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations more than 3 days ahead of a class are refundable, minus a 3% processing fee.
